I predict that will be the next announcement, sometime in September.

Whoa. →
I had to make sure it wasn’t April 1 as I read this feature list.
Key features at a glance:
• High Resolution super wide Fujinon 30x optical zoom (24-720mm) with manual (mechanical) zoom
• True wide-angle and extreme telephoto capture in a single compact unit
• Triple image stabilisation (sensor shift IS, high ISO IS, Digital IS)
• 10 MP BSI CMOS sensor with advanced shooting modes and...

What I see happening with the introduction of the iPad is not the death of the personal computer, but a clear distinction being made between machines used primarily for creating content and those used to consume it. The biggest problem with this first gen iPad is that you still need a computer to do certain things with it (upgrading firmware/OS and backing it up for example) I did read that there...

The courts love me
My first jury summons came in the summer of 1997. It was for a capital murder case that was to take place in the fall. I was excused. The defendant was then sentenced to death.
My next jury summons came a few days ago. I was summoned to court in SF. I just moved to Portland. I shouldn’t have a problem getting out of this one.
Here’s to another twelve years!

Pie Guy - a free web game for your iPhone - Neven... →
I tried Pie Guy on my iPhone 3GS. My initial reaction was there was a bit of a lag in controls. Enough that it made it hard to control. So I deleted it. Impressive use of cutting edge web standards technology. But I can’t see it as anything more than a tech demo.
The only reason I mention this is because (a) a web app isn’t going to compete with a native iPhone app for a game, and (b)...
Why NCAA XC is shooting itself in the foot
- The national championships are held at noon. ON A MONDAY. In Indiana.
- You need Silverlight to watch the live stream online.
- Larry Rawson is doing the commentary.
I want to watch it. But I’ll have to be sure to do a full backup before I install Silverlight so that I can be sure to totally uninstall it. And I’ll probably have to watch it with the audio muted.

Craigslist Spam
I posted some furniture for sale on CL. I’ve gotten this email in response to two different posts:
I live in sfbay too and I needed to email and tell you that you don’t have to get rid of your items to be able to put food on the table. I know it probably hurts to have to let go of your posessions and I get what it’s like to feel down in this crisis. Last month I had no choice but...

There’s a group of people out there who simply HATE Flash. What I hate is when I navigate to a page, then get quickly redirected to another page, so all of a sudden the BACK button won’t take me back to the page I went to; it takes me to the “middleman” page that sends me right back to the page I was trying to leave. Makes the nifty three finger swipe on my MacBook trackpad...

I'm done with Leo
“On the Mac, they include: the Dock, Spotlight, the Dashboard, Spaces, Expose, Automator, the menu bar, Bluetooth, MobileMe, Print & Fax, Time Machine, the Screen Saver, and much more. I recommend against using these features, as they just slow things down most of the time.”

Teeth
After roughly 7.5 years of being a very bad boy, I went to the dentist today. Day one cost me $632 (cleaning, checkup, full x-rays, and a filling on two surfaces). My fairly crappy insurance should cover roughly $150 of that. More fillings are in my immediate future and I’ll probably get talked into getting another crown to replace a molar that is roughly 20% tooth and 80% filling. I’m...
Little Snow Leopard issue: The “Alert Volume” under Sound prefences gets turned all the way down for some mysterious reason. This happens at least every few days.
